Demonstration Concert
5 September 2006
After a lot of discussion, the Committee has decided not to hold a Demonstration Concert this year.
99% of the replies to our Survey last year were in favour of having a Demonstration Concert. However, as it is school holiday time and people want to get away, it is often difficult to get people to perform, and even more difficult to get people to come to the concert. To have the concert at Centrestage, we now have to sell tickets through the ICC Booking Office, which means we lose a percentage of the ticket price and cannot guarantee our costs will be covered without increasing the prices.
The Committee would like to hear your suggestions on what should happen. You obviously want the Concert, but the Committee needs to know when. If you want it directly after the competitions, as it has been in the past, how do we make the general public realise what a wonderful concert it is? Would you like it the first week school is back? Would you like it at a completely different time altogether? If we can get some suggestions on ‘when’ then maybe we can safely sell tickets in advance and hold the concert at Centrestage.
Please send us your suggestions via our contact page.
