Apart from one survey that combined Ballet, Tap and Vocal, no surveys were received from Ballet or Tap people.
Venues
All Arts seem to be happy with the venues. Of the 37 Surveys returned the final figures were: 34 Happy; 1 Impartial at Repertory because of noise of fire engines etc; 2 not happy at Centrestage because of Dressing Rooms being too far away for quick changes.
Demonstration Concert
The question of whether "the Demonstration Concert is a good idea or not" received the following response:
The response to this was a resounding 'Yes': 34 positive, 2 negative and 1 no opinion. Various suggestions for prices, but roughly the same. Suggestion for more advertising to get general public to attend.
Accompanists
Of the 28 vocal or instrumental people, 2 said it had not worked well; 12 said it had worked well; and 14 did not respond.
Fees
There was no general consensus on Entry Fees, but the majority were below $5. 1x$5-$7; 3x$5; 1x$4.50; 1x$3.50; 4x$3; 1x$2-$3; 2x$2.50; 1x$2; 2x$1.50 and 2x$1.
On Administration Fees, however, the majority of people stating a figure increased these fees for both one entrant and families. For one entrant, the following were suggested: 1x$12; 1x$10; 1x$6; 5x$5; 1x$2; 1x$0.50; and 1x$6 including Programme. For families, the following were suggested: 2x$15; 4x$10; 1x$3 and 1x$1. The Membership range was: 1x$50; 2x$25; 6x$20; 1x$10 and 1x$5. Admission Prices were all kept low (around $2-$3), with suggestions for a $5 per day pass. The suggestion of a Different Fee Structure brought 13 negative responses and 10 positive. There were suggestions that there should be a limit on the amount any one family should have to pay; or there should be a reduction for more than one art.
Possible Change of Name
15 said it should not be changed; 10 said it should be changed (with different suggestions for what it should be changed to); and 12 did not respond.
Website
Most people responded to this section. The majority have an internet connection at home. Although some said they would enter online in 2006, others were unsure because of the risk of paying over the internet. Our payment system is not done over the internet, so this is something we will have to make clear. One person was unsure if it was a good idea for the Society but the other 36 thought it was a good idea. There were suggestions that there could be more information about the Young Performer of the Year, Nominees, etc. Also there could be photos of past competition winners and performances. The Webmaster has been given a copy of the results.
